Terminal Concept that boosts intermodal traffic
In our eyes, an intermodal terminal is much more than a road-rail transloading facility. We see it more as an important part of a logistics chain. This is why we are constantly developing our intermodal terminals.
With modern and efficient terminals, we want to help to double intermodal traffic by 2020. This target has resulted in the development of a new terminal concept that aims to:
- Increasing the volume of freight sent by train
- Sharpening the competitiveness of intermodal traffic compared with other methods of transport
- Increasing service at the terminal to reduce lead times for all interested parties
- Ensuring efficient and safe management of goods
- Creating competitively neutral terminals
- Offer freight handling, cross-docking and storage adjacent to the railway line
- Respond to market needs for additional services
- Create a uniform and high standard over a network of standardised intermodal terminals
The terminals in these locations are part of the terminal concept: Göteborg (Gothenburg) , Nässjö, Stockholm, Sundsvall, Västerås and Gävle.
